New Adventurer Guide:
You start off in the world of Mystic, a new wet behind the ears adventurer. Coming into this wonderful world you are granted a few starting items that will aide you in your travels. You get a checkbook, that once you open it, will keep all your gold and tokens that you collect safe. Inside this checkbook there also a link to the shard website. You will have 1500 gold pieces (If you double click the gold, it will automatically be entered into your checkbook for you) a book, a dagger, a runebook and a "Mystic Mount Bonding Deed" and a set of New Recruit Documents. (If this is your first character, you will notice you also receive a stat ball and skill ball. You only get these on your first character, dont waste it.) The pet bonding deed can be used on either of the two mounts that Jereme and Mary have for purchase. These mounts are unique in that they will bring you back to life should you perish while mounted on them. (You must double click them to be ressed. Will work even if they are dead too) Upon looking around you, you notice you are in a softly lit, warm reception area.
There are a few people you hear talking in the distance. These people will help guide you along. If you give your New Recruit Documents to either one (Jereme for Melee, Mary for Mage) they will start telling you of a few duties that are needed from you. Your First duty, they explain, is to help retrieve some lost supplies and help beat back the monsters in the process. To complete this section of the quest, you must kill the Brood Skeletons and Mage Rotters. For they carry around with them the lost "Supplies" of which you will need 10 to complete this portion. If you accept, you are granted a New Recruit bag. For warriors, this bag contains a Ring with night sight, and a deed for a shiny new Training weapon. (These training weapons have low damage but extremely fast swing times, allowing for much faster gains.) For mages you get the same ring but a few spell scrolls instead of the weapon deed. Once you have made short work of the monsters and collected 10 of the missing supplies, return to the starting area. Turning in the 10 supplies, they will then tell you the next step in your quest. For each step that you complete, they will award you with a new item. Theres a complete set of new armor, a shield, earrings and bracelet. The final step will include a check for 5,000 gold pieces, a statball and a letter of introduction. (for another quest) Mages also receive a deed for a spellbook. Warriors, you can trade your weapon in to receive a new Recruit weapon.
The second stage of the quest, you are asked to retreive 10 missing Mage Bags. These can be found on a monster called Wither and a cobra plant. These can be found in the area directly south of the starting areas entrance. Upon collecting the 10 items required, return again to your starting NPC. They wll tell you of the next items that are needed. This time, its 5 dark bones. You can obtain these off of the Celetial wraiths, phantom imps and the fnged Devils.
The next item is 5 bottles of medicine. You obtain these from the Vorpal Liches, enraged Masher and Bone Strikers. The orcish trainees and Mad Scientists carry the power crystals of which you need 5 of. Hook Rats, Beholders and lost tortures carry the Special Leathers for the next part. You guessed it, you need 5. You get the special Ingots from Rock eaters and Mad Rulers. You will then need 5 Tasty Food items from the Snaring Dirges and Swamp Theives. The Range Tanglers, Lava Guts and Frillbacks carry the Magic Log for the arrows. And the final Item, the Generals Letter can be gotten off the Scavengers and the Unholy Drainers. You can also get the Letter from home from them that will award you bit of gold extra.
Once completing the quest, you can at any time, say ready to either Mary or Jereme and leave the new player dungeon. The gate they provide you, will send you to the Mystic City Casino. From here you can head to Haven to complete Lothars quest or visit any dungeon of your choice.
